Hi everyone! My name is Jennifer, and I am very excited to start this blog. I have three beautiful boys, and work full time in the field of education. As I am beginning this journey, I hope to share things that are important to me, things that I enjoy, things I learn along the way, and hopefully inspire others.

I guess a good place to jump in is my son's recent 7th birthday party!!! He is totally into video gaming right now, and Minecraft is probably his favorite (hence the theme). We had 10 kiddos total in the party, and for the venue, the local trampoline park (Defy). The party was large enough for the "Mega VIP" package, which included pizza, drinks, and a party host. This was great! The party host kept track of the time, helped with the set up/clean up (which was really the best part!!! it made everything so easy!!!), and was attentive to our needs. All I had to do was bring the cupcakes and decorations :)

Walmart had me covered for the table accessories! I was able to find plates (both for entree and dessert sized), napkins, the tablecloth, and Happy Birthday Banner. I don't know much about Minecraft, but the kiddos were particularly excited for the diamond pickaxe napkins. One kiddo even asked to take some home!!! LOL. The cups/black napkins pictured were actually provided by Defy as part of the party package.

I did improvise and design the goodie bags myself. Honestly, I just didn't like the designs that were out there! I found a 12 pk of basic gift bags that were totally blank at Target. Then I printed some Minecraft themed blocks out on card stock. Since the characters were blocks, they were super easy to cut, and I just pasted them right on! The kiddos were super excited for the Ender Dragon (which until now I totally thought was an EndoDragon LOL). If you are interested in seeing the reveal of what kiddos went home with in their goodie bags, check out my upcoming reel on my Facebook page!

This is my youngest, checking out my favorite set up of the day!!! We scored helium gaming controller and green star balloons at the Dollar Tree. (I will disclose that the Dollar Tree does now charge $1.50 for each helium ballon :P). The real exciting piece here was the axolotl backdrop that I purchased the backdrop from Amazon. It was perfect for a photo opportunity!!! We used it as a backdrop behind all the kiddos that attend and for our family (usually we always for get to get those!). Everyone loved it!!!!

Overall, a very awesome party! I was even told by the kiddos that it was EPIC! I don't know how I am going to top this one next year :P
