So you are wanting or considering a Cricut cutting machine, but which one? There are so many different options to choose from! It can be intimidating, but I am going to break down in a quick summary the differences in the cutting machines.
A few years ago, I invested in the Cricut Maker. I chose this machine because it cuts a wide variety of materials (fabric, leather, matboard, etc) and has a wide range of tools for writing, scoring, embellishing, and cutting. Additionally, the price tag for the Cricut Maker was reasonable for me. You can get the Cricut Maker bundle to include both the machine and the materials that you need to get started.
If you want more speed, a little more cutting width, and wifi capability, then the Cricut Maker 3 is the model that you would want to look at. Another option available with the Cricut Maker 3 is that you do not always need to use a mat with materials and it is compatible with Cricut SMART materials.
Cricut recently advertised their Venture machine. This machine is not playing around! It is a wide format professional cutting machine. This speedy machine and stand bundle also includes a roll for materials and a basket to catch cuts from hitting the floor. It will cut single images up to 12 ft and repeated images up to 75 ft!!!
If you are looking for something a little more simple, the Cricut Joy will cut 50+ materials including vinyl and cardstock. It also writes, draws, and foils and includes bluetooth technology.
